Arrow at 12 O’clock is opening mark – Line at 11 O’clock is the change mark. Chubb locks sometimes have the change mark at 1 O'clock.
Important Information: Dialing to numbers must be accurate. Going past the number and the backing up will prevent the lock from opening.
The Chubb Factory Setting for 3 wheel safe locks is 10 – 20 – 30
Step 1:
Turn dial to the left (anti clockwise)
1st number (10) to pass arrow three times
and stop on the fourth time.
Step 2:
Turn dial right (clockwise)
2nd number (20) to pass arrow two times
and stop on the third time.
Step 3:
Turn dial to left (anti clockwise)
3rd number (30) to pass arrow one time
and stop on the second time.
Step 4:
Turn dial to right (clockwise)
Until dial will no longer turn. (approximately at 95) .
If dial turns more than one revolution, an error has been made. Start again.
To change the combination you must first remove the existing number.
Dial the existing numbers as in the above steps 1 – 2 – 3, except that you line the numbers up with the change mark. Leave the final (third) number lined up with the change mark.
Changing combinations must be done with the safe open and the locking bolts thrown.
Do not use numbers below 25 for the last number.
Insert charge key into back of lock and turn a quarter turn to left (anti clockwise). The lock is now in a neutral position and ready to receive a new combination:
Using the change mark dial new number as in step 1
Using the change mark dial new number as in step 2
Using the change mark dial new number as in step 3
Leave third number lined up with the change mark; turn change key a quarter turn to right (clockwise). Remove key from lock.
Test new combination three times by following steps 1,2,3,4 instructions (on opening mark/arrow).

Step 1 : Turn dial right (clockwise)
1st number (10) to pass arrow four times
and stop on the fifth time.
Step 2: Turn dial to left (anti clockwise)
2nd number (20) to pass arrow three times
and stop on the fourth time.
Step 3: Turn dial to right (clockwise)
3rd number (30) to pass arrow two times
and stop on the third time.
Step 4: Turn dial to the left (anti clockwise)
4th number (40) to pass arrow one time
and stop on the second time.
Step 5: Turn dial to right (clockwise)
Until dial will no longer turn.

Leave fourth number lined up with the change mark; turn change key a quarter turn right (clockwise). Remove key from lock.
Test new combination three times by following steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 instructions (on opening mark/arrow) before closing the door.
